Daily LEADERSHIP Tip / Sanctuary This Weekend
Day 2 / Sanctuary This Weekend
Yesterday I recommended a P.I.P., or performance improvement plan for employees who are not meeting your performance standards.
Well, what about you?
Are you meeting your performance standards each week?
Decades ago Lee Iacocca turned around Chrysler Corporation. He wrote about it in his book, IACOCCA. The primary takeaway I got from the book may be helpful to you:
Every Sunday evening Iacocca separated himself from his family and went into his study. He reviewed his major objectives from the prior week and assessed how well he had done. Then he defined his most pressing goals for the upcoming week.
I call this a form of Sanctuary. No interruptions. No distractions. Just focused time on what is most important - NOT to-do lists.
I suggest you try a Sanctuary time between this afternoon (Friday) and early Monday morning. Pilot Sanctuary for one month to test its value for you.
Let me know if you need help.
