What do you hear?

You can do this anywhere, but as a leader of people, how often do you pause and just listen to the people who report to you?

Really.  Just sip your water, coffee, tea... and listen while they talk with peers or your clients.  Do they:

Provide good service, or personal service?

Speak professionally, or at least respectfully?

Listen to others and wait for their turn to talk?

The way your people behave demonstrates what they truly believe and defines your company culture. How well do you consistently meet these three standards?

REMINDER:  An Ownership Culture is an organization of excellence, NOT a company that has a few superstar employees or pockets of excellence.

Meeting Ideas

Your company culture is the only thing your competitors cannot steal or copy.  It is defined by employee behavior.

If you want to take your company to the next level then:

  1. Listen, alone or with others, to confirm you meet your standards in the three areas above.
  2. Listen to others in your company without their knowledge
  3. GET REAL.  If you catch your people violating your values and standards, the situation is much worse.  Almost always you catch a fraction of the bad behavior.
  4. Decide what you want to do about any violations.  The cost is too high for inaction.
